PFRA 2025 Public Fundraising Awards
We were proud to celebrate the outstanding individuals and organisations who are leading the way in public fundraising across Aotearoa, at the 2025 PFRA Symposium.
This year we introduced two new awards to further recognise and celebrate excellence, commitment, and partnership in the fundraising sector; Charity Partner of the Year and Agency Partner of the Year.
Congratulations to Hato Hone St John who was named the PFRA Charity Partner of the Year
Hato Hone St John were nominated by their Agency Partner Cornucopia.
“We are nominating Hato Hone St John due to their consistent commitment to excellence in fundraising. They are supportive, ethical, and genuinely committed to great fundraising. They have demonstrated an unwavering alignment with the PFRA Code of Conduct and have continually raised the bar in the charitable sector through their transparent practices, collaborative spirit, and innovative fundraising support.
The St John team, work in partnership with us and our fundraisers on both day-to-day support and the big-picture strategy, making sure we’re all moving in the same direction. Their support has helped lift our fundraisers, and their communication is always clear, thoughtful, and proactive. It’s the kind of partnership that makes a real difference, and we’re proud to be working alongside them. “
Congratulations to our other finalists IHC New Zealand and Médecins Sans Frontières.
Congratulations to Community Solutions who were named the PFRA Agency Partner of the Year
Community Solutions were nominated by their Charity Partner IHC New Zealand.
“Community Solutions has been IHC’s trusted face-to-face fundraising partner for the past eight years, consistently showing adaptability, strong communication, and a deep commitment to compliance and quality.
From navigating COVID-19 disruptions to supporting new initiatives like the Rural Smile Club and implementing innovative payment options, they have played a key role in helping IHC grow its fundraising and reach both urban and rural communities across New Zealand. Regular training and close collaboration ensure fundraisers are well-informed, aligned with IHC’s values, and equipped to represent the organisation with integrity. “
Congratulations to our other finalists Aida and Surge Direct.
Congratulations to Elana Fatu from Community Solutions who was named the PFRA Face-to-Face Fundraiser of the Year for 2025.
Elana continues to set a benchmark in our industry — not only through her outstanding fundraising results but also in the way she represents and the charities we support with professionalism and heart.
What truly distinguishes Elana is not just what she achieves, but how she does it. She embodies the spirit of face-to-face fundraising — approachable, genuine, and engaging. Elana is a go-to person for leadership, donor quality, and service excellence.
She is not just an outstanding fundraiser; she is a role model who elevates everyone around her.
Congratulations Kyle and thank you for all you’re doing to inspire and support charities through great professional face-to-face fundraising practices.
Congratulations to our other finalists Kyle Mackie (Xplore Services) and Andy Walkowski (Cornucopia), both of whom showed great standards of professionalism and achievements.
